In this digital age, it's becoming harder to find strong guitar-oriented musicians who write music because it's what they want to hear. othersidenine is just that: a band that focuses on the sound and the message and not on sounding like last week's trend. othersidenine recently completed recording a 6 song studio demo and is currently in the studio working on more songs for a full length CD project. Their current CD captures some great songs and some great performances, accessible, but still a little dark and brooding. The disc focuses on individual experiences; there is no posturing here, just reflections of life. The songs are all very personal. "Wait" deals with being betrayed by those closest to you. "Should Have Known" is about unrecognized possibilities and unreturned affections that are finally realized. Each of the songs has its own mood and personality that helps to distinguish it from the others while still maintaining the continuity of the project. othersidenine came into being in 1999 when several other projects broke up and left the various members looking for new outlets. othersidenine is currently performing their energetic live set at local clubs.
